How to take delivery orders on POS

To speed up the ordering process for delivery and fill it out in order the information is dictated by your client over the phone, take orders on your Poster register.

To take a delivery order on your POS:

  1. Go to Poster application and enter an employee’s PIN.

  2. In the top left corner of the POS click on New order and choose its type — Deliveries.

  3. In the open order on your POS go to the Delivery tab.

  4. Enter the delivery address and add a comment with extra information for the courier. For example, about an angry dog in the yard.

💡 To make prompts appear on your POS register when entering a delivery address and for couriers to automatically receive notifications about new orders, connect the “Poster Courier” application. If the client does not know their exact address, in the Address line 1 field, start entering the name of the delivery location — Poster will find it on the map. For example, the name of a sports club or business center.

  5. Go to the Receipt tab and add products or dishes to the order.

  6. Open the tab Customer to find the guest in your client database.

  7. In the top right corner click on Apply to add the client to the order.

💡 If you enter an address in the Customer tab, it will also be shown in the tab Delivery. It will help you to keep several addresses of a client and save time when taking a delivery order.
  8. Go back to the Delivery tab and check the client’s payment method. It will help the courier to prepare change in advance for cash payments or to remember to bring a card reader.

💡 For each address you can edit the delivery area and delivery cost.

💡 You can work with the tabs Receipt, Customer and Delivery simultaneously and in any order. It will help you to be flexible when taking delivery orders.

Now choose a courier and deliver the order to client.

💡 If the Internet connection is lost in your location, you can still keep working: take orders for delivery, print receipts and send tickets to the kitchen.

☝️ Restrictions of working in offline mode:
• At the cashier’s register, hints with streets and house numbers for delivery orders will not appear.
• Couriers will not receive notifications of new orders in the “Poster Courier” application. But orders will be saved on the register and, after the Internet is back on, they will automatically appear on the couriers’ smartphones.
